I am Op. Dr. Emir Darcan, a neurosurgeon specializing in brain, spine, and spinal cord surgery. I graduated from the English-language Medical Program at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. Driven by my fascination with the human nervous system, I completed a neuroscience internship at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2010 and a surgical internship at the University of Wrocław in 2012. In 2015, I began my neurosurgical residency at Bakırköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Training and Research Hospital for Psychiatric and Neurological Diseases in Istanbul, home to one of Türkiye’s oldest and most established neurosurgery departments, and completed my specialist training in 2021. My areas of expertise include spinal disorders and their surgical treatment, brain tumors and neurosurgical oncology, and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
