Professor Hao Wu is Chief Physician and PhD/MD Supervisor at Capital Medical University, Beijing, China. He is Deputy Director of Neurosurgery Administration, Xuanwu Hospital, and Administrative Director of Neurosurgery, Xiong’an Xuanwu Hospital. He is a “Tianchi Talents” specially appointed expert and Chief Neurosurgery Expert at Yuquan Hospital, Tsinghua University.
A neurosurgeon specializing in spinal cord and vertebral disorders, he leads a multicenter team with over 3,700 annual surgeries. He has ranked first in outpatient consultations and surgeries at Xuanwu Hospital for five consecutive years, pioneers complex techniques, and reaches 1.5 million followers via public science communication.
Since 2022, he has been granted or published 37 national patents (21 invention, 16 utility), 6 commercialized, with CNY 10 million cumulative transaction value. He has published 39 SCI papers as first/corresponding author, led 21 key projects (8 national-level) with over CNY 20 million funding, and authored 10 monographs. His honors include the 2025 Future Leading Star Award and Beijing “Summit” Plan, and the 2021 Wang Zhongcheng Chinese Neurosurgical Physician Academic Achievement Award. He serves as Spinal Surgery Group Leader, Beijing Medical Association Neurosurgery Branch (2025–2028); AO Spine China Neurosurgery Education Officer (2025–2028); and Vice Chairman/Secretary-General, Spinal Surgery Committee, Chinese Research Hospital Association.
